Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the RaceSignal iPhone app (“RaceSignal,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using RaceSignal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use RaceSignal.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and able to form a binding contract to use RaceSignal. You are responsible for keeping your account secure (you can sign in with an emailed link or password, Sign in with Apple, or Google) and for all activity under it. Tell us at racesignal@gmail.com if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
2. Race and result data
Some race data in your account is imported from publicly available race-timing and results pages hosted by third-party providers, which you confirm belong to you during setup. We do not control the accuracy or availability of that data, and RaceSignal is not responsible for errors that originate from it.
3. Signal: informational only, not professional advice
Signal is RaceSignal’s AI-generated analysis feature. Its responses are informational only:
- Not medical, training, coaching or other professional advice. Signal is not a substitute for a qualified coach, trainer or medical professional, and you should not make training, racing or health decisions based solely on it.
- Not guaranteed to be accurate. Signal is generated by an AI model from the data in your account. It may be incomplete, mistaken or misleading, including when it reads a screenshot you attach. You are responsible for checking anything important before acting on it.
- Looking back is not predicting. A finish-time range Signal gives for an upcoming race is a look back at your own past results. It is not a forecast or a promise about how you will finish.
4. Reminders
RaceSignal can schedule optional reminders on your phone. They depend on your device’s settings and state (for example notification permissions, Focus modes and battery settings) and may be late or not delivered. Do not rely on them for anything time-critical.
5. Your content
You are responsible for the race data you add and the screenshots you choose to share with Signal. Do not share content that is not yours to share, that violates someone else’s privacy or intellectual property rights, or that is unlawful. You keep ownership of what you submit. You give us only the limited right to process it to provide RaceSignal’s features to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use RaceSignal for any unlawful purpose; to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorized access to RaceSignal or its underlying services; to use Signal to generate abusive or harmful content or content that violates Anthropic’s usage policies; or to use another person’s race results or identity without authorization.
7. Subscriptions and billing
Some features are offered as a paid subscription through in-app purchase. Where that applies:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price you agreed to (or a new price, if it changed with the notice the App Store requires).
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device’s App Store account settings. We cannot cancel it for you, because billing runs through Apple.
- Any unused part of a free trial, if one is offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.
8. Account deletion and termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, which permanently deletes your account and its data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription: cancel that separately in your device’s App Store account settings. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
RaceSignal, including Signal’s analysis, is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that Signal’s output is accurate or fit for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of RaceSignal, including any decision made in reliance on Signal-generated analysis or on third-party race or results data.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the date above. Continued use of RaceSignal after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
